Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Season 2 Predictions β With Some Good News
The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been widespread.
The first season presents a large cast of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.
The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.
That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the major resolutions β but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating happens now.
"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some incredible reveals, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. [β¦] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."
She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season β particularly in the format of fan bingo cards.
"I've seen a couple people make a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
